Hi Reader,

A client asked me a question last week that I haven’t stopped thinking about:

“If someone can ask AI about this, why would they come to our blog?”

Now there are plenty of ethical questions around AI that deserve their own conversation.

But my answer to this specific content question came down to two things: trust and perspective.

AI can summarize an idea. Shape an outline. Find gaps. Generate a starting point.

But the reason someone reads your take is that they trust your read on the situation.

In my client’s case, they work closely with arts organizations. They attend the conferences. They talk to the leaders. They see what different teams are struggling with, testing, and trying to make sense of.

That’s the difference between “here’s a generic answer to your question” and “here’s what we’re seeing across the field.”

And I think that’s true beyond content too.

AI can help you take an idea further. But a good conversation can help you figure out whether it’s the right idea to follow.

I’ve been thinking about this in my own business too.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve had a few conversations with peers that helped me get out of my own head. I talked through launch decisions I was overcomplicating, messaging I kept trying to “make clearer,” and ideas that sounded good in my notes app but needed another set of eyes.

For solopreneurs, AI can help us move faster and produce more, which is genuinely useful in some contexts.

But having the right people and perspective around the work is what really strengthens it.

A conversation. A second read. A sharper question. A real example. A proof point. A person who can hear what you’re trying to say and help you find the thread.

That’s what gives the work its weight.

And in a world full of pretty, polished answers, I think that matters more than ever.

’Til next time!

Big (virtual) hugs,
