This might sound a little woo

Working for yourself can get… a little quiet.

Things you’re working toward don’t always make it out of your own head.

The Reach is a space to share them and keep them moving.

Twice-weekly coworking. Real accountability.
A rhythm that makes follow-through easier.

If you don’t want to do this alone, you’ll feel at home here.

Hi Reader,

So I’m a millennial, which means I grew up in the heyday of Disney Channel.

That’s So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and of course, Hannah Montana.

(side note: If you don’t think The Climb is a certified banger, we can’t be friends.

Now, if you’re mildly chronically online, you may have heard about the recent Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary special that aired a couple of weeks ago.

But what was most interesting to me was how it came about.

Apparently, Miley Cyrus made the special happen by talking about it before it was really a thing.

This is advice she got from her godmother, the incredible Dolly Parton: If you want something to happen, promote it before it exists.

In a similar vein, last week on a coworking call, one of the members shared that she’d signed a new client. Always great news. But what made this update special was that the week before, she shared she needed to hit a specific number to cover some unexpected expenses.

You can see where this is going, right?

This new client paid in full, upfront, and it covered the exact gap she needed.

I’m not a super witchy-woo-woo kinda person. But I’m a little woo. And I do think there’s something powerful about speaking things into existence.

And because we’re all about structure and systems around here, my next thought was: can you make this a regular practice?

Well, yeah! You can.

  • Make weekly or monthly intentions. And be specific, like “I’m going to close 1 five-figure project this month.” Give your brain something to look for now, not “someday.”
  • Put it somewhere you’ll see every day. Your Notes app, your planner, a Circle post, a sticky note on your desk. Keep it top of mind so you actually take action.
  • Share it with someone (or a group) you meet with regularly. Like a coworking call, community thread, or group chat. When other people know what you’re working toward, they can connect dots you can’t see yet.

Because saying the thing once feels good, but saying it consistently and keeping it visible is what actually moves things.

So try it out this week.

Say the thing, share it out loud (or somewhere public), and back it up with one small, repeatable action.

And see what happens.

Who knows, you might just Miley Cyrus your next opportunity.

’Til next time!

Big (virtual) hugs,

✨ What’s happening inside The Reach

FYI: We do this kind of work weekly and monthly. We set goals, share them on coworking calls and in our community, and revisit them consistently.
And this week, I wanted to bring a little bit of that here.
What are you working toward this April? Or this quarter?
Hit reply and tell me, I’d love to hear.

💡What I'm loving right now

Relay’s Great With Money newsletter. Shameless plug: Relay's a client of mine, and I ghostwrite for this 😅. But I’ve been loving getting back into my journalist bag, curating useful stories for small business owners. If you’re US-based, check it out!

👩🏾‍💻 New quarter, new messaging?

Or same messaging, still not hitting?
If your website or content needs a refresh, I’ve got space for one more copy project and a content strategy intensive this April. I also have limited room for custom projects (like the newsletter ghostwriting I do for Relay).
